The Grant Application Process

There is only one round of grant funding each year.  A call for proposals will be made in the journal ‘Nature’. We will ask for a preliminary application that gives details of the proposed work, its relevance to CGD and approximate costings for the work. The preliminary application will be assessed and scored by lay reviewers and our medical panel.

Preliminary application form

Selected applicants are then asked to complete a full grant application form. All applications are fully peer reviewed. Our Medical and Scientific Advisory Panel considers the grant applications and the reviewers’ comments to reach its recommendations for funding. Recommendations are then passed to our board of Trustees for ratification.
