The CGDRT funds a clinical psychology suport service for CGD patients and their families who are living in the UK. It is available by referral and self referral; is flexible and available to 'dip in and out of' as necessary. There are no long waiting lists, a common feature of other psychological services.
How can I access this service?
If you/your family is affected by CGD, you can ‘self refer’ by making a phone call yourself. Or you can ask your GP or consultant to refer you.
Dr Nigel North and his team can be contacted directly on: 01722 425105
Dr North, consultant psychologist, is based at Salisbury District and General Hospital NHS Trust. Living with CGD can be difficult at times and sometimes learning some 'coping strategies' can make all the difference.
Since Dr Nigel North got the service 'up and running’, the take up rate of the service has increased as people have learnt more about what the service is and what it offers. Dr North has worked to dispel myths and misconceptions about the role of a psychologist and he has been determined to make the psychology service more accessible to individuals and families affected by CGD.
