Your support of the Jeans for Genes Campaign means that we can fund the employment of specialist nurses who are there to make your life easier and answer all those medical questions and queries when you don’t know who to ask.
We fund a CGD paediatric nurse specialist and an adult CGD specialist nurse.
Listed below are some examples of areas of their work:
* Providing practical guidance in dealing with all aspects of the condition through phone call contact and visits to individuals and their families.
* Providing information to health professionals regarding CGD and the particular needs of individuals with CGD.
* Assistance in accessing appropriate medical and other healthcare services.
* Attending specialist CGD clinics around the UK including Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, London and others.
* Liaising with non-medical stakeholders for example within schools and day care.
* Advising staff at the CGD Research Trust of the needs of those with CGD.
You can contact the nurses directly (please see Details of nursing services) or phone or fax CGD Research Trust on: +44(0) 1725 517977 or email rosemarie@cgdrt.co.uk.
