Andrew Flintoff

Cricketing legend Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff is our newest patron. Having the renowned sportsman on their team raises the spirits of the many young adults and children batting against CGD on a daily basis. Freddie knows what it is like to overcome physical disadvantages, having come through a number of injuries to reach his current peak.

Born on 6th December, 1977 in Preston, Flintoff plays a right hand bat, and is a right hand fast medium bowler. He debuted for Lancashire in 1995. His accolades include blasting Ian Botham's six-hit record for one-day internationals, in half the number of matches. He won Man of the Match in each of the three one-day internationals against Bangladesh at the start of the winter tours, Man of the Series honours. He scored 167 runs in the 2004 Test at Edgbaston v West Indies and once again claimed Man of the Match.

The CGD Research Trust is honoured that he has chosen to donate some of his precious time, energy and attention to helping us.
